I met the Parkers on the beach below Palisades Park North in Pacific Beach. You take the stairs down from the park and the cliffs block out the rest of the city, so it feels like a little stretch of sand all your own. We didn't have a plan beyond spending the evening at the beach, and I loved seeing what happened when we just let them play.
